Joseph Jacobs put together a collection of fairy tales in a book called English fairy tales, published in 1890. Halliwell-Phillips he cites as a source for the story of three pigs included in his book. Indeed, it seems to be a verbatim reprint of the 1843 printing of the story. However, it is usually Joseph Jacobs, who is credited as the person who created the version on which he relies on most modern versions of the story.
